The Lamellar Catenoid Surface Family

Lamellar Cateinoid surfaces consist of series of parallel surfaces connected by two-dimensional lattices of catenoid-like handles. In this example, the catenoid-like handles connect two parallel surfaces, and thus the surface is considered doubly periodic. However as a model of the intermaterial dividing surface in a diblock copolymer a series of these doubly periodic surfaces is stacked to form a triply periodic structure, where the handles of adjacent surfaces are offset. Such structures are called perforated lamellae.
