TEMsim

TEMsim is a tool designed to aid research in polymer physics, and specifically the study of the nanostructure of block copolymers using Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). TEMsim acts as a virtual TEM, allowing the user to select differnt geometries as models of the IMDS and view projections of them using simulated TEM controls and other parameters. The user can search through different model libraries and parameter spaces to find projections which match experimental TEM images.

TEMsim provides a Tcl/Tk GUI, an OpenGL window for real-time model manipulation, and hierarchical refinement raytracers for projections. The combination of model manipulation and real-time interruptable progressive detail projection allows truely interactive use of volume rendering.

See the pre-computed tables of TEMsim Volume Projections.

For detailed information about TEMsim, consult the TEMsim Description in PostScript or an abridged version in HTML. TEMsim has a graphical user interface which may be seen in the Session Snapshots.
