CME-MSRI Prize Seminar and Award Ceremony on Sept. 21, 2006 at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange

The Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI), in conjunction with the esteemed Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), is pleased to announce that the new CME-MSRI Prize in Innovative Quantitative Applications will be awarded on Thursday, September 21 at the CME. The inaugural event starts at 2:00 p.m. with talks by Nobel Laureates Robert Merton and Myron Scholes that will examine the future uses of mathematics in economics and the study of markets, followed by a panel discussion, a reception, dinner, and keynote address by the prize recipient at the award ceremony.

The annual CME-MSRI Prize will be awarded to an individual or a group, to recognize originality and innovation in the use of mathematical, statistical or computational methods for the study of the behavior of markets, and more broadly of economics.
