Seminar on homological methods in representation theory: "Block decompositions of categories determined by varieties" |

I'll talk about some joint work with Jon Carlson. The stable module category of a finite group has thick subcategories determined by homogeneous subvarieties of the maximal ideal spectrum of the cohomology ring. We describe how these subcategories break into blocks. The answer involves the ordinary blocks of the group algebra and Linckelmann's block varieties. (Organized by D.Benson, N.Mazza) |
