Aspects of quantum control

Wednesday March 28, 2007

09:00AM - 10:00AM

Speakers:
Anthony Bloch

Abstract:

In this talk I will discuss some problems in the control of quantum systems.
In particular I will discuss the control of ion traps, the interaction
of harmonic oscillator/spin systems, the generation of squeezed
states, and the interaction of quantum systems with their environment leading
to dissipation. I will
discuss the physics of such quantum systems and their relationship to
techniques of classical control.
