Canonical bases and construction of Chevalley groups over Z

Tuesday March 11, 2008

09:30AM - 10:30AM

Speakers:
George Lusztig

Abstract:

In this talk we consider some proposals of Kostant about constructing
Chevalley groups over Z. Using the theory of canonical bases we show that
these
proposals can be put on a firm foundation.
