The geometry of tensor triangulated categories of representations

Tuesday April 1, 2008

09:30AM - 10:30AM

Speakers:
Paul Balmer

Abstract:

We'll explain how to do geometry in
tensor triangulated categories, with emphasis on the derived and stable categories of kG-modules. We'll see how basic geometric ideas can be exported to this framework and then applied to modular representation theory. In particular, we'll discuss the construction of endotrivial modules by means of gluing techniques.
