The field of algebraic stacks has gathered a huge momentum and is bound to become one of the main tools of the working mathematician. The subject relates to quantum cohomology and mirror symmetry, modern theoretical physics, geometric Langlands program and geometric representation theory, modern homotopy theory and symplectic geometry.

This workshop, aimed at non-experts in the area, will cover four main topics:

1. Algebraic stacks and intersection theory
Lecturers: W. Fulton, A. Kresch, A. Vistoli

2. Non-Abelian Hodge theory
Lecturers: T. Pantev, B. Toen

3. Geometric Langlands
Lecturer: D. Ben-Zvi

4. Derived deformation theory and formal costacks
Lecturer: K. Behrend
