SHORTCUT:

Integrated Active Contours for Texture Segmentation.

MSRI Workshop for Women in Mathematics: Introduction to Image Analysis
January 21, 2005 03:00 PM to 03:45 PM

Speakers:
Sagiv, Chen

VMath - The Next Generation for Math Lectures on Streaming Video

Summary:

The lecture begun by outlining Beltrami framework for image interpretation, followed by geodesic snakes and level set formalisms. The lecturer contributed to the field by deriving an edge indicator in Gabor feature space thus formulating edge active contours for texture segmentation. The approach was compared to Chan's edge-less level set Geodesic snake as well as Kimmel's interpreted approach.

Keywords:

Image Analysis; texture segmentation; geodesic snakes; Gabor filters; level set contours.
