SHORTCUT:

Combinatorial Stratifications of the Grassmanians: Algebraic Geometry and Combinatorial Fiber Bundles.

Combinatorial Aspects of Hyperplane Arrangements

VMath - The Next Generation for Math Lectures on Streaming Video

Summary:

The lecture is a discussion of moduli spaces of matroid as a "universal
moduli space problem". The matroid stratification of the Grassmannian
factored by the torus action yields much information about the moduli
space. The condition of no proper tilings on the base polytope of the
matroid gives that the moduli space is a finite set of points. Next,
global combinatorial homotopy is discussed. It turns out that
combinatorial manifolds are deeply connected with PL-manifolds.

Keywords:

Hyperplane arrangements;moduli space; base polytope; global combinatorial homotopy; PL-maniflods.
