Summary: |
A model for the role of neuronal synchrony has been introduced. In later stages of the visual processing pathway, neurons respond with increasing invariance to location. For successful object recognition, it is important that feature location is represented. In the introduced model, feature location is topologically represented by synchronous firing
patterns. Dendritic nonlinearities are necessary in order to detect synchrony. |
