VMath - The Next Generation for Math Lectures on Streaming Video

Summary:

A new model for STRF and spike train generation has been discussed. The Poisson model for spike generation cannot explain the following two neuronal properties: The variance is smaller than the mean spike count for short time
windows and larger for long time scales. A simple alternative model can account for these properties: The negative binomial model.

Keywords:

Neurobiological vision, Receptive Fields, Receptive field estimation, STRF, Spike Trains, Poisson distribution, Negative binomial distribution
