SHORTCUT:

Roles of Area MT in Stereo Vision.

Emphasis Week on Neurobiological Vision
February 08, 2005 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM
Speakers:
VMath - The Next Generation for Math Lectures on Streaming Video

Summary:

Involvement of MT in depth perception has been analyzed. Two tasks with complementary information processing demands have been used: a coarse task involving absolute disparity with noise and a fine task involving relative
disparity without noise. Neuronal and behavioral responses are similar. Microstimulation only effect the coarse task and inversible inactivation of MT does not affect the fine task. MT does not seem contribute to the fine task, and after learning of the fine task not to the coarse task any more.
