In this joint work with G. Leoni and M. Morini we transform free boundary problems to systems of elliptic boundary value problems. Examples are minimizers to the Mumford-Shah functional and stationary velocity fields of fluids with surface tension. Koch: Regularity for a free boundary problem and a conjecture of De Giorgi.
