May Chu is an organizing director of MetroBank, Houston, Texas. She serves on the Compensation Committee and is Chair of the Audit Committee of the holding company, MetroCorp Bancshares, Inc. Additionally, in January 2007, Ms. Chu was appointed as a director of Metro United Bank in California. She is the founder of Signet Consulting, a bank management consulting firm specializing in regulatory issues and has served as its president for more than 20 years.

Ms. Chu received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics from the University of California at Berkeley and a PhD in Economics from Case Western Reserve University. She was then employed at Texas Commerce Bank and Texas Commerce Bancshares for more than five years, first in the Economics Division and subsequently in Mergers/Acquisitions.
