examples:

• mdir - displays the msdos directory at a:\
• mcopy - copies a file to or from a:\

mount /floppy

• treats floppy as part of the file system

Graphical access:

• Icons on KDE and GNOME desktop provide one-click mount capabilities for both cdrom and floppy
• Data CDs will mount and display files
• Audio CDs will only play using appropriate CD player application
• Devices must be umounted or system may hang
• use fdflush to clear
