We will review the definition of tropical oriented matroids and triangulations of subdivisions of simplices. Then we will give an
outline of the proof that when $n=3$ there is a one to one correspondence between the triangulations of the product of simplices, $\Delta_{n-1} \times \Delta_{d-1}$, and tropical oriented matroids with parameters $(n,d)$.
