Abstract: 
Some model free-boundary problems arising in the growth of biological tissue (with
applications in tumour growth, tissue engineering and bacterial biofilms) will be outlined
and some of their asymptotic properties addressed. The models in question have a 
number of novelties, from both free-boundary and PDE perspectives.
