I'll explain a sufficient condition on a small category for its category of representations to be Gorenstein in an appropriate sense. I then want to discuss the problem of finding generators for singularity categories of such categories of representations. More specifically, I'll talk around the idea of using the intrinsic structure of the small category to characterize the representations (over a regular ring) of finite projective dimension.
