I'll review optimal transport from a dynamical point of view, and consider some elementary examples of periodic orbits of probability measures on the circle, The definition of a rotation number for such orbits seems to be a natural object in this setting. I'll also consider minimal transport plans subjected to a prescribed rotation number.
