I will speak about four point inequalities on the Hamming cube and how they imply edge-isoperimetric and sharp Poincare estimates together with their continuous counterparts on Euclidean spaces equipped with Gaussian measure. In particular, I will illustrate how to sharpen Beckner--Sobolev inequality (joint work with A. Volberg).
No background is needed for this talk and all members of MSRI are very welcome.
