For a Nakajima quiver variety N, the Yangian, as constructed by Maulik and Okounkov, is a Lie algebra of endomorphisms of the cohomology of related quiver varieties, determining the equivariant quantum cohomology of N. I will give a (conjecturally) equivalent description of this algebra, but this time coming from the side of Donaldson-Thomas theory. I'll outline a few applications and generalizations, such as a strategy for proving Okounkov's conjecture regarding the graded dimensions of the Yangian, and the Bozec-Schiffmann cuspidal conjecture.
