| Abstract: | This talk will give an introduction to Cox rings, focusing on the case of cubic surfaces. We will also discuss applications: Cox rings are useful to study the distribution of rational points on cubic surfaces, and to understand a relation between cubic surfaces and representations of linear algebraic groups. |
