| Abstract: | One of the most significant applications of tropical geometry is to the problem of counting curves. Mikhalkin showed how to compute Gromov-Witten invariants of toric surfaces by using tropical geometry. In this talk, I explain how to count curves on Abelian surfaces using tropical techniques. The invariants computed are analogous to the Yau-Zaslow invariants of K3's. This is joint work with David Helm. |
