This workshop will bring together new and experienced leaders of math circles for students and teachers. We welcome anyone who is interested in learning more about math circles, especially teachers. Workshop activities will include discussions, presentations, and a mathematics festival.
Participants will begin collaborating before the workshop to develop sample math circle sessions that they will present during the festival. These activities will be collaboratively evaluated and refined during the workshop. The Circle on the Road 2013 Workshop will be held at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez. Students, recent Ph.D.'s, women, and members of underrepresented minorities are particularly encouraged to apply. Funding awards are made typically 6 weeks before the workshop begins. Requests received after the funding deadline are considered only if additional funds become available.
