Show List of Speakers

This 2-day workshop will consist of four minicourses on classical topics in geometric group theory, each consisting of two hours of lectures plus associated discussion sessions. The lecturers and topics will be: Goulnara Arzhantseva: Gromov's polynomial growth theorem Lisa Carbone: Bass-Serre/Rips theory of group actions Genevieve Walsh: Thurston's classification of surface automorphisms Anna Wienhard: Mostow rigidity Participants will be asked to contribute a one- or two-page PDF poster advertising their own research. These will be compiled into a booklet to be distributed to all registered participants. Group photo of workshop participants Click on image to open a PDF file of the workshop poster
