Sean Fahey is a founding member and co-chief investment officer of Compass Rose Asset Management, a New York based firm which presently manages two hedge funds. In his role as CO-CIO, Fahey is responsible for oversight of the global investment team. Prior to the founding of Compass Rose in 2017, he served the same role at predecessor firm Claren Road from 2005 to 2017. Additionally, Fahey was a partner of the Carlyle Group from 2010 to 2016, as Carlyle was a co-owner of Claren Road at that time. Fahey was previously a managing director at Citigroup; as head of global emerging markets external debt trading, he was responsible for sovereign and corporate debt. During his career at Citigroup/Salomon Brothers, Fahey held several roles across global credit trading. He joined Salomon Brothers in 1993 in the Liability Management Group before entering the Salomon Brothers Sales & Trading training program in 1995. Fahey attended Duke University on a full mathematics scholarship and received a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Computer Science, magna cum laude, in 1993. Fahey serves as a board member of the Cancer Research Institute, the nation's oldest non-profit focused solely on immunotherapy-based solutions to cancer. Fahey lived for 20+ years in New York City before moving to Los Angeles, California, in 2016, where he lives with his wife and two young sons. |
