Over the last five years, from the theoretical physics side, there have been wide-spread activities to explore the hydrodynamic equations for integrable systems with a strong emphasis on quantum integrable systems. In my presentation I will explain how far such a program can be carried out with more precision in the case of the classical Toda chain. This will mean to study generalised Gibbs states and, most importantly, their averaged currents.
