Description
Mmw2016
As part of the Mathematical Sciences Collaborative Diversity Initiatives, the six NSF-funded U.S. mathematics institutes are pleased to host their annual SACNAS pre-conference event, the 2022 Modern Math Workshop (MMW) on October 26-27 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The MMW encourages undergraduates from underrepresented groups to pursue careers in the mathematical sciences, and builds research and networking opportunities among undergraduates, graduate students and recent PhDs. The workshop includes two mini-courses aimed at undergraduates, research sessions aimed at graduate students and recent PhDs, a panel addressing professional issues of interest to both, a reception open to all participants. The 2022 MMW is organized by the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute. The MMW is part of the SACNAS National Conference and begins with registration at noon on Wednesday, October 26 and ends at noon on Thursday, October 27. >> Download a workshop flyer to share (PDF)   2022 Mini Courses Dr. Moon Duchin (Tufts University) Modeling Democracy (with Geometry and Probability) Dr. David Uminsky (University of Chicago) and Dr. Mario Banuelos (California State University, Fresno) Mathematics of Data Science: Theory & Practice How to Apply Create an MSRI account (or log in to your existing account).      Make sure that your MSRI profile is linked with an ORCID identifier.
