KP-II in 2 and 3d

New challenges in PDE: Deterministic dynamics and randomness in high and infinite dimensional systems October 19, 2015 - October 30, 2015

October 20, 2015 (03:30 PM PDT - 04:30 PM PDT)
Speaker(s): Herbert Koch (Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn)
Location: MSRI: Simons Auditorium

In the talk I will explain global wellposedness and scattering results for dispersive equations with quadratic nonlinearities. The Kadomtsev-Petviashvili II equation in 3d requires additional decompositions, related function spaces and refined bilinear estimates.
