Individual Giving: Ways to Support MSRI

Use our secure online giving portal (via Classy) to make a gift to MSRI. This link will open the donation form in a new browser window.

For donations made via postal mail:

Archimedes Society

MSRI’s annual giving program supports all aspects of the Institute’s mission: Knowledge & Research, K–12 Education, and Public Programs & Initiatives. With your gift, you will become a member of the Archimedes Society.

Members of the Archimedes Society receive a set of greeting cards featuring the mathematician of your donation level, recognition of your gift in the spring issue of the biannual Emissary newsletter, reserved seating at a number of MSRI events, and an invitation to a special reception during the annual Joint Mathematics Meeting. Giving levels of the Archimedes Society include $55+ (Fibonacci), $257+ (Fermat), $882+ (Noether), and $1,729+ (Ramanujan).

Museion Society

The Museion Society, named after Musaeum, the Hall of the Muses in ancient Alexandria, recognizes our friends who support MSRI with gifts of $5,040 or more. Museion members enjoy all the benefits of the Archimedes Society, and they are invited to three exclusive dinners with lectures in the Bay Area, New York, and London. Giving levels of the Museion Society include Plato ($5,040+), Hypatia ($10,000+) and Euclid ($25,000+).

Endowment Gifts

Unrestricted Gifts to the Endowment benefit MSRI in perpetuity. The endowment is MSRI’s savings account: your gift to the endowment will be carefully and prudently invested to generate a steady stream of income. A gift to the endowment helps to ensure MSRI independence in the future.

MSRI accepts Restricted Gifts to underwrite a project or a postdoctoral fellowship temporarily through a Major Gift or in perpetuity through a Named Endowment, including named postdoctoral fellowships.

Planned Gifts

A Planned Gift in the form of a bequest may enable you to make a substantial gift to the Institute, ensuring that MSRI remains strong in the future. Planned gifts may help reduce capital gains and estate taxes.

Individuals can make a significant impact to the life of the Institute, to mathematics, and to scientific research by contributing to MSRI. Annual Fund gifts are recognized in the Archimedes Society

Friends who include MSRI in their will or have made other stipulations for a gift from their estate become members of the Gauss Society and receive invitations to our Museion dinners and to a reception during the annual Joint Mathematics Meeting.

The Hilbert Society recognizes our most generous supporters whose leadership and commitment ensures MSRI continues to thrive as one of the world’s leading mathematics research centers. Annual membership is awarded to donors of $100,000 or more per year. Donors whose cumulative giving reaches $1 million become lifetime members of the Hilbert Society.
