Museion Society

Our Museion Society is the giving club of our most generous friends who support MSRI with annual gifts starting at $5,040. Plato suggests that 5,040 is the optimal number of citizens in a state because it contains the most numerous and most consecutive subdivisions. 5040 has 59 divisors (apart from itself) and can be divided by any number from 1 to 10.

We like to think of our Museion Society of an optimal group of supporters whose generosity allows MSRI’s leadership to take scientific and outreach initiatives that would otherwise not be possible.

The Museion Society is named for the legendary institute at Ancient Alexandria, the hall of the Muses and the place of study of Archimedes, Eratosthenes, Hypatia, and Euclid. Members of the Museion Society are invited to three exclusive dinners with lectures by world-renowned guest speakers in the Bay Area and in New York.
